Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home is seeking a licensed director and embalmer, dedicated to providing above-and-beyond service to those in need of our expertise. We are an independent, family-owned firm, entrusted with over 160 families a year. Established in 1937, we are deeply vested and highly respected in our community, where we have worked hard to earn and keep trusted relationships. It is an outstanding community that is close to Ann Arbor, with rapidly expanding real estate and industry, also boasting top rated schools.
Candidates must be professional, compassionate, affable, and intuitive, tuned in to what each family wants and/or needs. We offer a significant compensation package, with benefits that include: health insurance allotment, pre-arrangement commission, matching retirement program, paid vacation time, paid sick days, cell phone allotment, fuel allotment, paid professional development opportunities, bonuses, and potential extra pay for embalming done during off-call hours. Candidates are not expected to make nighttime removals. Work schedule stipulates one weekday off, each week, and every other weekend off. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet with families, arrange and direct funerals and services of all types.
- Work with fellow employees, outside agencies, government offices, and vendors to coordinate services, order merchandise, schedule burials, and prepare all documentation for burial, cremation, and transport.
- Embalm, dress, cosmetize and casket the deceased.
- Assist with setup and scheduling of the visitations and services.
- Demonstrate proficient use of fax machine, computers, typewriters, EDRS system, a/v system, and phone system.
- Adhere to state, federal, and company laws, regulations, and policies.
- Make removals during daytime business hours.
- Operate all funeral home vehicles.
- Assist in all other tasks associated with the funeral home or services.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs.
EDUCATION
- Degree in Mortuary Science from an accredited university.
- The appropriate state of Michigan funeral licensure or the ability to reciprocate license from another state.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years as a funeral director/embalmer preferred. However, attitude and a commitment to teamwork are more important to us than the number of years worked in the industry.
- Computer skills and use of software, including but not limited to scanning, editing, printing, and Microsoft Word.
- Knowledge of DocuSign and social media platforms is advantageous.
- Previous experience in customer service is advantageous.

Eineder Funeral Homes is seeking a licensed funeral director ( Michigan License or Ability to reciprocate license).
We are a family owned and operated, multi-location funeral firm in Michigan serving the communities in mid-Michigan and the surrounding areas, and we are seeking a conscientious licensed full or part time funeral director proficient in all aspects of funeral service.
This position interacts directly with families during their time of need and is responsible for creating and maintaining a premier level of client family satisfaction with a personal touch. Salary or Hourly wage commensurate with experience.
The Funeral Director and Mortuary Science Licensee duties include but not limited to:
- Skillfully and compassionately taking death call information and coordinating transportation accordingly
- MUST prioritize tasks and MUST manage time efficiently
- MUST be a team player and work well with others
- MUST take direction and follow through
- Oversee, direct, and coordinate all aspects of funeral services including, visitation, services, burials, and cremations
- Caring of deceased including embalming, restoring, dressing, cosmetology, casketing, transporting and possible other requests
- Meeting and assisting grieving families to prepare and coordinate services while showing continual care, concern and professionalism
- Contacting service personnel and outside vendors to coordinate merchandise and arrange facilities within a timely manner
- Overseeing and directing scheduled funeral and memorial services
- Being knowledgeable with funeral home policies and guidelines as well as all services offered to families
- Supporting and assisting co-workers to ensure the highest quality, most professional, most ethical service
- Daily internal communication via text, phone and email
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite and other internal technology
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must have the State of Michigan funeral licensure or the ability to reciprocate license from another state
- Ability to manage a caseload while creating an exceptional customer experience
- Excellent driving skills and record
- Proficient in embalming and cosmetics
- Be passionate about and committed to delivering outstanding service to the deceased and their families
- Have excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Detail-oriented, follow up and be well organized
- Be able to perform well in dynamic and sometimes stressful conditions
- Thorough understanding of laws related to funerals and funeral arrangements
- Familiar with a wide range of religious or cultural funeral services and customs
- Be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Be able to move a minimum of 50lbs
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance
- Be available to be on call, work evenings and weekends and occasional scheduled holidays
- Certify and proof death certificates in EDRS (training available)
